The Psalmist says, “I have hidden Your Word in my heart that I might not sin against you.” Are you securing Gods Word in your heart, so you will not sin against God? Let’s quickly dive into this devotion on how to secure God’s Word in you now!
Steps to secure God’s Word in You
“Praise be to you, Lord;
teach me your decrees.”
Step 1: Praise
Praise God and pray that He will help you understand His Word, and to help you hold His Word in your heart.
“With my lips I recount
all the laws that come from your mouth.”
Step 2: Recite
Recite what you have just read in the Bible. This will help you hide God’s Word in your heart more effectively. Study your scripture.
I rejoice in following your statutes as one rejoices in great riches.
Step 3: Consider
Consider how important God’s Word is to you. Do you consider His Word more valuable than anything you could ever possess? Love God’s Word in such a way that it brings you personal revival or great rejoicing when you read it and study it, especially as the Holy Spirit gives you revelation.
I meditate on your precepts and consider your ways.
Step 4: Meditate
Set yourself before the Lord to study His Word. Think about His Word throughout your day, ask God to help you understand the things you are confused about. He will give you revelation through His Holy Spirit.
This might also mean updating your Bible study materials, making sure you have the right resources like Bible dictionaries and refrences to help you understand the Word, when needed.
I delight in your decrees; I will not neglect your word.
Step 5: Delight
Delight in God’s Word. Allow the Bible to captivate your thoughts as you think about what pleases God. Take great pleasure in not only studying Gods Word but sharing it as well. Finally, do not neglect (mistreat or abandon) God’s Word. Stand for and be faithful to what the Word says!
“All Scripture is inspired by God and is useful to teach us what is true and to make us realize what is wrong in our lives. It corrects us when we are wrong and teaches us to do what is right.” 2 Timothy 3:16 NLT
Salvation Plan
Today, if you have not received Salvation or you would like to rededicate your life back to Christ, say this prayer:
God, I know that I am a sinner. Right now, Lord, I turn from my sins, and I ask you to forgive me. Jesus, I believe that you died on the cross and rose from the grave, for me. I open my heart and life for You to come in, and I receive You as my Lord and Savior. Thank You, God for saving me. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
